Jay L. Mackman, D.D.S.
He is a 1981 graduate of Marquette Dental School. He has 25 years of experience in temporomandibular disorders (TMD), orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. Dr Mackman is board certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain (ABOP) and the American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM). He further is a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Mackman is a consultant to most insurance companies in southeastern Wisconsin. He is also a consultant to most hospitals in southeastern Wisconsin. Additionally, Dr. Mackman is an advisor to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Mackman is author and/or contributor to several books and articles. He has taught didactic and clinical courses at numerous dental schools, medical schools, hospitals and dental and medical organizations nationally and internationally.

Dr. Mackman belongs to many national and international level organizations in support of education, research and advancement of the fields of dental sleep medicine and orofacial pain. He is the co-founder of both the TMJ and Orofacial Pain Treatment Centers of Wisconsin and the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Wellness Centers


Daniel E. Taché, DMD
Daniel E. Taché, DMD, is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed an advanced General Dentistry Residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital (VA)/University of Texas Dental Branch (UTDB), where he then accepted a position teaching anatomy.

Subsequently, Dr. Taché attended an 18-month training program for the diagnosis and treatment of Myofascial Pain Dysfunction (MPD). He studied under Dr. Janet Travell, renowned for authoring the definitive books on myofascial pain and dysfunction (MPD) as well as for helping to restore the health of President John F. Kennedy.

Dr. Taché established a successful practice in Houston, Texas, where he emphasized Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD), Myofascial Pain Dysfunction (MPD) and Sleep Apnea (SA). During that time, he maintained his position as an assistant clinical professor, lecturing on TMD/MPD. He also remained on staff at the TMD/MPD Pain Clinic at the UTDB.

In 1999, Dr. Taché and his family moved back home to Appleton, Wisconsin, where he established a dental practice, again emphasizing TMD/MPD and Sleep Apnea. During this time, he became the first board-certified dentist in Dental Sleep Medicine in the State of Wisconsin. In addition, he successfully passed his written boards for the American Board of Orofacial Pain.

Dr. Taché has published and lectured extensively in the field of TMD/MPD and Sleep Apnea as well as serving as the co-editor for The Sleep Magazine.
